Waipa DC have notified that entranceway construction must be carried out by "approved contractors".   Please ensure that your contractor is on the approved list

Urban entranceways must be constructed
  • from kerb to property boundary
  • any existing footpaths to be reconstructed as part of the entranceway
  • be constructed with plain concrete - no colours, stamping or surface textures
  • be inspected by Council staff when boxed and prior to concrete pour.  It is you or your contractors responsibility to arrange for this inspection.
Waipa District Council have prepared the following comprehensive Code of Practice for urban entranceways:

Waipa DC will allow urban vehicle crossings to be sealed in some circumstances where the street has no kerb and channel.

Rural Entranceway Standards

To minimise delays in Councils subdivision sign-off of entranceways, you need to do the following:
  • Read the subdivision consent condition for the correct entranceway standard - download from the link above
  • Make sure you know whether a culvert is required (check the subdivision consent)
and ask us to
  • prepare a sketch plan for contractors to price
  • mark the extent of the entranceway and set out the width of new seal at the road edge
  • check entranceway compaction prior to sealing
Down the appropriate standard from the links below (Updated to COP diagrams 28 Sept 2011):
