Commonly called a "re-peg" or boundary mark out. These surveys mark existing boundaries only. In older areas, or areas where key survey marks have been destroyed, redefinition surveys can be complicated and expensive.
Under the Surveyor Generals Rules 2010, this type of survey is called a "monumentation" survey. The aim of the Surveyor Generals Rules being to record any boundary marks placed in the official Landonline record. Surveyors are now required to prepare either a "monumentation" data set" or a "full monumentation" data set - these survey plans and documentation are loaded into Landonline to document the survey work.

Make sure you know where your boundaries are before you construct a fence.
